participation at District TB office for a meeting on intensive case finding at Indore

CETI team and its volunteers participated at DTC Indore on 13th January for supporting in survey work in Indore District, CETI will work at 3 areas Sharafat Nagar, Dak – Tar colony and Badla colony under Khajrana in Indore, around 8000 population would be covered by this event, Social work interns, social workers and Volunteer of Sunni welfare committee will help to find new cases in this program.

Meeting & Planning for Mission LKDB – “Lambi Khansi Dheema Bukhar” under TB free Khajrana campaign- Dec 20th, 2016

A meeting is organised to start mission Lambi Khansi Dheema Bukhar to do active case finding over one lac population of Khajrana Indore to make TB free on the basis of model Khajrana TB free campaign. Dr Manoj Jain, (co-chair CETI and infectious disease consultant, USA), Dr Salil Bhargava (co-chair CETI & Professor of Chest & TB), Mohammad Ikbal (founder of Sunni welfare committee),Sangeeta Pathak (Program Manager,CETI) and Saiyyad Nazim (Program Manager,Sunni welfare committee Indore) were presented in the meeting. Dr Manoj Jain briefed about planning to all and ask  Mr Ikabl for support. Mr Nazim shared his planning to support CETI, Mr Ikbal assured to support surveyor and team CETI on the field level, he also told to provide transportation support and nutritional for poor TB Patients.

Khajrana TB Free survey (pilot) over 1000 house holds and around 5000 population

CETI has done a pilot survey on Khajrana Indore batween 4th to 20th October, over 5000 population covered with 1002 house holds from Jalla colony and Badla Khajrana indore,

—Cured TB patients – 6

—Existing TB Cases  – 12

  • patients lost the medicine – 7

—Symptomatic with sputum tested  – 34

—Extra pulmonary case – 5

—Patients not ready to examined – 32

—Time allocated – 2 weeks

—Person power – 20 people

—Meeting with Doctors from Khajrana  – 56

—School Visited for creating awareness – 4

—Slum visited to aware people  – 21 times

after analysis results are:-

  • people are still not serious for their health.
  • perhaps stigma on TB  is present in society.
  • people are uneducated, most of them are alcoholic.
  • Khajrana model can be a role model to control TB deaths in society mostly in dense population, it can be  a sustainable and replicable plan to make TB free India,
  • CETI will follow same plna make 100000 population of 336 colonies of Khajrana, Indore to make TB Free.

Inauguration of Survey work (pilot) over 5000 population under Khajrana TB Free campaign by District TB Officer, Indore, Dr Vijay Chhajlani

After 9 slum visits, referred 36 chest symptomatic patients and found 7 sputum positive patients at Khajrana , Team CETI decided to start survey work at Khajrana to find more and more TB patients and to make Khajrana TB free, Dr.  Vijay Chhajlani (DTO Indore) inaugurated the event, it was organised at St  Loysis School with the help of Sunni Welfare committee,  on this occasion along with CETI team Dr Vijay Chhajlani, RNTCP officials, members of Sunni welfare committee, Media persons, school staff and Students Social work college (surveyors) were presented there,

The survey work is a pilot to find active TB case in the dense community, 1000 house holds & around 5000 population would be covered by this effort, symptomatic TB patients will be referred to M Y Hospital , Sunni welfare committee (SWC) committed to provide food facility to the poor patients.

CETI Started Khanjarana TB Free Campaign

Few days back CETI Coordinator went for a slum visit at Khajrana in Indore. By two visits only, they referred 6 TB suspected patients to the nearest DMC centers, from that slum they found four patients are sputum positive in six of them,The Space Between Us film

Immediately team CETI has decided to cover Khajrana area with all its intervention like awareness & case finding in slum, case finding with the help of non MBBS Doctors, TB Awareness in Schools and Colleges, Awareness by Print Media , TB Exhibition display, Health Awareness camp with the help of NIMA, local doctors and NGOs etc.

To start this campaign CETI Program manager Mrs Sangeeta Pathak met with members of Sunni welfare committee, which is an NGO and working already in Khajrana area for serving food for hunger and for education, they have more than 100 volunteer in the field. they assured us to help in our TB Free Khajrana campaign.
