As a part of a hybrid model, a two-day, in-person meeting for BATCH-6 DTOs was organized on October 27th & 28th 2023 in Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Serviced Apartments Pune, Viman Nagar, Pune, Maharashtra, where DTOs from the states of Lakshadweep, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Maharashtra participated.
A high-intensity interactive session on PDSA, quality, networking, and management was conducted by eminent speakers and alumni DTOs of Batch 4.
The workshop was chaired by Dr. Sunita Golhait, State TB Officer, Maharashtra, and other distinguished speakers- Dr. Aniruddha Deshpande, Director (STDC, Pune), Dr. Varsha Puri Deputy Executive Health Officer- TB Mumbai, Dr. KS Sachdeva, Regional Director, & Dr. Manu Mathew Deputy Project DirectorThe Union, & Dr. Manoj Jain Co-founders of CETI, Commodore Raman Arora, Course Director PMEC, Dr. Pratibha Kohli & Ms. Jayalakshmi Chittor as Faculty PMEC.
The in-person meeting was participated by a total of 68 participants out of which 43 In-person DTOs exclusively participated from ongoing Batch 6.
The in-person meeting for Batch 6 was majorly focused on sessions concerning PDSA, its importance in the elimination of TB, and hardwiring the PDSA Approach into the NTEP and Public Health Programs and Quality Improvement approach. Sessions and discussions were also done on Challenges and Solutions for TB Free India, iDEFEAT TB Project, its structure, objectives, and Modernised Training Systems like Corporate Pledge.
Looking at the views of distinguished speakers and feedback received from participants, It is highly recommended that such a skill-building event is conducted from time to time not only from the perspective of individual learning but as an opportunity for DTOs/Program managers towards peer learning and strengthening their approach to problem-solving.
