Jun 8, 2024

As part of the ongoing efforts under the CAP-TB project, a comprehensive community engagement event was organized by Assistant Consultant Harsha Agarwal, bringing together Panchayat officials, health staff, and community leaders to advance the mission of TB Mukt Gram Panchayats. Mr. Raman Arora, leading the CAP-TB initiative, addressed the gathering, highlighting the project’s goals of community-led TB elimination and health system strengthening. The event featured motivational addresses from Block Medical Officer Dr. Tiwari and Janpratinidhi Adhyaksh Shri Malviya ji, who commended the TB Mukt Panchayat team’s dedication and urged continued grassroots involvement. The Gram Sarpanch also spoke, expressing full support and encouraging local participation in TB awareness and early detection efforts. In a show of solidarity, Mr. Raman Arora, joined by the Sarpanch, Block Health Team, and NTEP staff, distributed a nutrition support food basket to a TB-positive patient under the Nikshay Mitra initiative, followed by a personal counseling session emphasizing treatment adherence and emotional resilience. Mr. Raman Arora also addressed and guided the TB Mukt Panchayat teams of Kelod and Berchha, reviewing progress and laying out the roadmap for intensified village-level action. A Working Committee was officially formed at both Kelod and Berchha, comprising Panchayat members, health officials, ASHAs, and community representatives to steer the initiative locally. To enhance public awareness, IEC materials were prominently displayed at the Panchayat Bhavan, informing the community about TB symptoms, the importance of early diagnosis, and the availability of free treatment under NTEP.
